ASA has designed the course “DEA Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) of Opioid Use Disorder” to meet the eight-hour training requirement included in the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act. The new requirement for DEA-registered practitioners goes into effect on Tuesday, June 27, which is not a deadline, but rather the beginning of the program under which a physician must complete the training prior to new DEA registration or renewal. Members can register for this course at no charge, and the curriculum contains 11 videos, with up to 12.5
ASA PRA Category 1™ credits. The course is available to non-ASA members for only $129. In addition, the
Opioid Safety Strategies course is also available and meets the DEA regulatory requirement.
