About NCSA

Founded in 1949, the North Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists (NCSA) represents physicians dedicated to advancing the practice of anesthesiology and improving the health and safety of patients across North Carolina.

For more than 75 years, NCSA has served as a trusted voice for anesthesiologists at the state and national levels. Through education, advocacy and professional teamwork, the Society works to promote the highest standards of medical care and ensure that patient safety remains at the center of health care policy and practice.

Anesthesiologists are physicians with specialized training in anesthesia care, pain management and critical care medicine. They evaluate and prepare patients for procedures, monitor and manage vital functions during surgery, provide relief from acute and chronic pain, and care for critically ill patients in intensive care settings.

NCSA brings together anesthesiologists from communities throughout North Carolina who share a commitment to clinical excellence, physician-led care and the best possible outcomes for every patient.
